The Bear's Den: Cabin on New River

"The Den" sleeps 2-to-6 comfortably in a bedroom, sleeping loft, and a hideaway bed in the living room. A convenient gas fireplace, a full bathroom with a great shower, and a kitchen with microwave and dishwasher will keep you coming back. We're open year-round, and we do accept pets with a deposit.

Bent Mountain Lodge & Cabins

Overlooking the pastures and woodlands of the western New River Valley, our five-bedroom lodge is great for families and small groups. Only 30-minutes south of Winterplace Ski Resort and within 15 minutes of Hinton, Princeton and the area's best restaurants, guests enjoy convenience that doesn't forsake the remote atmosphere. Amenities include country breakfast and other meals by arrangement. By appointment, a small pub adjacent to the lodge serves guests of the lodge, cabins, and campgrounds.

Less than a mile from I-77 at Ghent, WV, the side-by-side units are only minutes from Princeton, Bluestone Lake, Pipestem State Park, and the Bluestone National Scenic River. The cabin is less than 30 minutes from fine hotels in Union, Hinton, Lewisburg, Alderson, and White Sulphur Springs. Misty River Cottages

The remote stretch of canyon along the upper New River Gorge near Sandstone Falls conceals three beautiful deluxe cabins, perfectly situated for fishing and hunting vacations or leisurely getaways near the Hinton National Historic District. Two private cabins accommodate six guests in three bedrooms with two full baths (one with a whirlpool tub); a third provides for eight guests in five bedrooms with three full baths. The Misty River Cottages are located upstream of the New River's whitewater rafting area where the river widens to a broad, gentle stream broken only by Sandstone Falls, West Virginia's largest cataract. Peg's Peak

Groups of up to five are easily accomodated. Amenities include a fully-equipped kitchen, screened porch, washer/dryer, linens, air-conditioning, heat, two televisions with satelite, and a spacious sun deck with gas grill. The Cabin in the Woods

Box 177, Ghent, WV 25843 304-787-3009 Our new cabin of aromatic Appalachian logs might seem a world-away from the bustle on the slopes at Winterplace Ski Resort, but it's only 1.5 miles from Interstate 77 and fewer  than five minutes from the resort entrance. In the woods at the edge of the pasture behind our farmhouse-inn, the cabin sleeps up to eight in two bedrooms and on a queen sleeper-sofa. It includes, a dining room, living room, a full bathroom, and a kitchen with a microwave, toaster, and coffee pot. Rafters, anglers, and hunters love our proximity to nearby forests and parklands. You can also sled in the back pasture in winter or hike through miles of highland forest around the farm. Watch deer and wild turkey make their daily crossing to the orchard.
